Do you have a sporting background?

During my childhood I have always been playing soccer in several clubs, but I stopped playing when I was 14 years old. I replaced the soccer with working out at the local gym for 4-5 times a week and I did so for almost 5 years.

When, how and why did you start training CrossFit?

As I said I worked out a lot at the gym, but one day almost four years a friend of mine dragged me to a real CrossFit workout where I was exposed to “The Seven”. At first you would probably think that I would have made it and then never ever returned to CrossFit again. Although my body was totally exhausted, flat laying on the floor and staring up the sealing for almost 30 minutes I realized: what am I doing in my training right now? This was the real deal for me. Go to the gym, or the box in this case, and give your all, to leave it all on the floor and then feel satisfied with what you have accomplished for the day. After this workout I was stuck and have only been doing CrossFit since.

What are your goals in CrossFit?

My goal in CrossFit is qualifying for The Regionals. But I do also find a great joy in competing in large competitions together with my teammates and also best friends around Sweden and Europe.

What do you do when you are not training and competing?

When I’m not working out and competing I am studying full time to receive a Degree of Master of Science in Business and Economics. Parallel to this I am working as an accountant at PwC Sweden AB and also as Heach Coach at CrossFit Onyx.

What does a typical training week look like?

A regular week of training usually consists of ten workouts and two days of rest. The programming varies over the season, but generally I do my conditioning in the morning and strength in the evening. During off-season it is a greater focus on strength and during on-season it is more focus on conditioning and lactic acid training.

What is your main CrossFit success?

My greatest achievement in CrossFit, so far, is my individual qualification to The Athlete Games in England. Besides that I have competed in a team with Team Onyx in The French Throwdown where we placed as fourth among teams that just had qualified to Games and Regionals.

Do you have any role model in the sport?

It might sound a bit cliché, but Rich Froning is the one I look up to most in the sport of fitness. Not only because of his achievements, but more from his way of being a great athlete and person. As soon as he enters the competition floor he is dead serious and is capable of using just the right amount of energy compared to his competitors. Rich also seems to be a person that is funny, humble and caring when he is outside the training and competition and people like to hang around him. That is something that I look up to.

What's your biggest vice?

My biggest weakness in CrossFit is legless rope climbs. That is a one way hate relationship, haha!

What is your favorite WOD?

Believe it or not, but my favorite WOD is Fran. Those two minutes make you feel more alive than ever. You might also walk around the next couple of hours or maybe day with the infamous “Fran-cough” that makes you sound like a heavy smoker.

What do you like best CLN Athletics products?
